The Story

Region: Mantiqueira de Minas, Minas Gerais

Elevation: 1100-1300 masl

About: Álvaro Coli has long been producing some of our favourite coffees from Brazil. As a fourth-generation producer, he's a master of his craft, having placed in the Brazil Cup of Excellence a staggering number of times. Álvaro is very proactive in his farming philosophy and despite his success, always tries to improve quality, as well as finding ways to make coffee production more sustainable and in harmony with the surrounding environment. Sítio da Torre sits at some of the highest elevations in the Mantiqueira da Minas region, reaching around 1300 masl. The farm spans 70 acres, with 30 acres dedicated to producing approximately 1000 bags (60kgs each) of coffee annually. The coffee is selectively handpicked, immediately washed, semi-dried in the sun, and finished in mechanical dryers. It is complex, with notes of cantaloupe, chocolate, and has a creamy mouthfeel.
