Variety: Red Catucaí

Notes: Apricot, black tea, jasmine, lychee, peach, red currant, & silky

About: Luiz Ricardo Bozzi Pimenta de Sousa has taken out 1st place in the Cup of Excellence with a grand score of 90.03! Luiz and his two brothers are third-generation coffee producers, inheriting the farm purchased by their grandfather, Sebastião Fernandez de Sousa, in 1984. The farm, Sítio Escondica, is located in the state of Espírito Santo, a region known for its high altitude and unique micro-climate, both ideal for growing very high-quality coffee. This specific lot of Catucaí 785 was handpicked and pulped on the same day, underwent a 36-hour submerged fermentation, and was dried for 15 days. The result is a delightfully sweet and complex cup with unrivalled clarity. Truly a Cup of Excellence winner!
