The Story

Region:Ā Las Flores Santa Barbara

Elevation:Ā 1700 masl

About:Ā Proud Mary's connection to the Santa Barbara region of Honduras began all the way back in 2012 when we were introduced to a small group of producers situated around the town of PeƱa Blanca, close to the shores of the stunning LakeĀ Yojoa. More than a decade later, that group of producers has grown in number, and our relationships have deepened.Ā OvidioĀ ā€œMacheteā€ Gomez was among the members of thatĀ initialĀ group.Ā Ovidio is aĀ man of fewĀ words, butĀ hidden beneath his gruff exterior (often with a machete in hand), he is a passionate soul who cares deeply for the land and his community. This naturally processedĀ CatuaiĀ is from the first production fromĀ Ovidio’sĀ new farm, LosĀ Gomitos. When we last visited, He'd only justĀ purchasedĀ the farm, and heĀ hadn'tĀ quite decided on a name. This coffee is loud and juicy, with plenty of fruit notes.Ā Ā
